Qualified directly for the semi-finals as finalist of the 3rd Chess 960 WC: Kribben J. (GER); as highest ELO in the preliminary round: Voll (RUS), Alekseev (RUS), Noble (NZL), Korze (SLO) & Kraft (GER)
The semi-finals will start on the 15th of July 2018, with four sections of eight players.
Qualification for the final: the winner and the runner-up of each section.
