Welcome to the 4th English Correspondence Chess Championship. There has been a total of 54 entries for this Championship placed into a final, two semi-finals and one preliminary group.

Tie-Breaks: Tie-breaks will be resolved in the following order of priority:
a) number of wins by each tied player in the tournament;
b) points evaluation by the Sonneborn-Berger-System;
c) results of the tied players against each other.
If players are still tied after all relevant tie-breaking procedures have been used, the players will be considered equal.


Prizes: Winner will receive £100.
Runner-up will receive £50.

The winner and runner-up of this Semi-Final of the 4th ECCC shall be entitled to enter the Championship Final of the 5th ECCC. This entry cannot be deferred and must be used in the following event or it is void. The players finishing in 3rd and 4th place shall be entitled to enter a Semi-Final section of the 5th ECCC. The remaining places in the 5th ECCC Semi-Final sections will be allocated at the absolute discretion of the Tournament Sub-Committee.

This is a server event.
The start date was 3/5/2023.
The end date is 12/31/2024.
ICCF standard time control 10 moves in 40 days with doubling after 20 days is used.
If a player exceeds allowed thinking time in any way, the player will automatically be scored with a loss. Under some circumstances all of the player’s games will subsequently be cancelled (if not already rated).
28 days of leave per year are available to each player.
Special leave can be requested from the TD.
This tournament allows claims based on the seven piece tablebase.
Draw offers are restricted to one offer per player every 10 moves (called the ten moves draw rule).
Ties are broken by the Baumbach tie breaking rule (see ICCF rule 1.3.4.2).
If needed, adjudicators will be selected by the server.
Other participants can see the games only when they are finished, and at least 10 games are finished in the event.
