Welcome to the 4th English Veterans Correspondence Chess Championship Semi-Final A. Average Rating for the Semi-Finals: 1992.

Tie-Breaks: Tie-breaks will be resolved in the following order of priority:
a) number of wins by each tied player in the tournament;
b) points evaluation by the Sonneborn-Berger-System;
c) results of the tied players against each other.
If players are still tied after all relevant tie-breaking procedures have been used, the players will be considered equal.

Any Adjudications required at the End Date will follow all ICCF Automated Adjudication procedures.

Prizes: Winner with a plus score will receive £20.
Runner-up with a plus score will receive £10.

a) The winners of the Semi-Finals of the 4TH EVCCC with a plus score shall be entitled to enter the 5th EVCCC Championship Final. This entry cannot be deferred and must be used in the following event or it is void.
b) The players who finish 2nd, 3rd and 4th with a plus score in the Semi-Final of the 4th EVCCC shall be entitled to enter a Semi-Final section of the 5th EVCCC.
c) The players who finish in 6th place or below and have a plus score in the 4th EVCCC Championship Final shall be entitled to enter a Semi-Final section of the 5th EVCCC.
d) All other players who enter the 5th EVCCC in ranking order until the Semi-Finals are full.

Please note: Prize winners and players who qualify for promotion must have a plus score.

ICCF standard time control 10 moves in 40 days with doubling after 20 days is used.
If a player exceeds allowed thinking time in any way, the player will automatically be scored with a loss. Under some circumstances all of the player’s games will subsequently be cancelled (if not already rated).
45 days of leave per year are available to each player.
There is no special leave in this event.
Linear conditionals can be entered.
This tournament allows claims based on the seven piece tablebase.
Draw offers are restricted to one offer per player every 10 moves (called the ten moves draw rule).
Ties are broken by the Baumbach tie breaking rule (see ICCF rule 1.3.4.2).
If needed, adjudicators will be selected by the server.
Other participants can see the games only when they are finished, and at least 10 games are finished in the event.
