Ken represented his County Essex and England many times during his time playing correspondence chess.
His first ICCF tournament was in 1986 by post in an ICCF cup event, where he finished 2nd.
He played in several World CCC semi finals, gaining the ICCF International Master title in 1992, finishing 5th in his 18th WCCC SF section.
Ken's representation for England paid dividends in 2003 when he finished 4th in the category 8 North Atlantic Team Tournament 5, playing on board 2.
Ken's score of 6.5/10 gained him the ICCF Senior International Master title.
It is hoped this memorial event will give the players participating the chance to also earn norms and titles, as well as being a fitting way to remember Ken.
Play in the spirit of 'Amici sumus' as Ken was a gentleman and it was always a pleasure to correspond with him. Enjoy your chess!
