Zoltan Sarosy (1906 - 2017)
It is with sadness that I announce the passing of ICCF IM Zoltan Sarosy at the age of 110! He would have been 111 on 23 August. He was the oldest man in Canada at the time of his death, and quite possibly the oldest titled chess player ever! He was a long time member of the CCCA (Canadian Correspondence Chess Association). In my capacity as Vice President and International Events Secretary of the CCCA I had the great honor of corresponding with Zoltan by email. I only wish I could have met this amazing and gentle man in person! There is a very informative and interesting bio obituary at the following link posted at the Chessbase website.
