World Cup 22 preliminaries

This weekend I have set the 67 groups of the World Cup 22. Due to the helpful excel file (testing) of Russell Sherwood (many, many thanks), the pairings went smoothly. Just in case, a plan B was available!

508 registrations came via National Federation and 363 via Direct entry, in total 871 of which 17 females. The average rating is 2144.

21% titled registrations: GM 3, SIM 41 , IM 52, LGM 7, CCM 33 and CCE 48.

28% from rating band 2200-2300. 33 registrations were unrated.

As usual high interest from zone 1 (83%) Zone 2 (5%), zone 3 (10%) and zone 4 (2%).

52 federations participate, top 3: RUS (13%), GER (12%) and USA (9%).

Participant Richard Ian Clark from ENG wants to be sure to qualify for the semi-final and is playing in 10!!! groups.

8 TD's manage the preliminaries.
