Sunday, March 15, 2020: Immediate Suspension of Reflection Time for All Postal Tournaments

Dear ICCF Delegates and Officials,

Due to worsening conditions of the coronavirus around the world, the ICCF Executive Board, along with the Postal Tournament Office, has decided to suspend reflection time for all ICCF postal games immediately.

This decision was made considering the difficulties for some players around the world to receive and deliver moves.  Therefore, the ICCF Executive Board, in agreement with Gian-Maria Tani, Postal Tournament Officer, has decided to neutralize the time of reflection (i.e., “stop the clocks”) in all postal tournaments from 15/03/2020 through 31/05/2020.

Please note that this does not mean that postal games must be suspended; players are encouraged to continue postal play if circumstances allow them to do so.

The ICCF Executive Board wishes that, with the cooperation of all, this demanding situation can be resolved positively and quickly.  Our thoughts and well wishes go out to those who are painfully and tragically affected by this pandemic.
