ICCF Congress (2022) – Glasgow, Scotland

Dear ICCF Delegates, Officials, and Friends,

On behalf of the Scottish Correspondence Chess Association (SCCA), it is with great pleasure to invite all National Federation Delegates, their family, and Correspondence Chess friends to attend this year’s ICCF Congress, to be held in the Glasgow Hilton Hotel, 1 William Street, Glasgow G3 8HT, Scotland from August 14 – 18, 2022.

The hotel, off the M8, sits between Glasgow city centre and the West End, within a mile of both. The 4-star hotel has a health club with an indoor pool, sauna, and steam room. The hotel has a dedicated taxi rank, providing easy access to Glasgow Airport. A negotiated parking rate of 7 GPB is available for those attendees arriving by car. Those arriving by helicopter can use their helipad.

The ICCF Executive Board (EB) and Management Committee (MC) will meet on Sunday, August 14, 2022. The EB meeting will start promptly at 09:30, followed by the MC members at 14:00. Those concerned are kindly requested to arrange travel plans to participate in their respective meetings.

The Opening Ceremony, Civic Reception, and Refreshments are kindly hosted and sponsored by the Rt Hon The Lord Provost of Glasgow. The Congress will open at 09:30 on Monday, August 15, 2022, and family and friends of accompanying delegates to the Congress are warmly invited to attend the opening ceremony. Meetings of Congress will begin immediately after the official Opening Ceremony.

Excursions and various chess matches will be offered throughout the week, with the Closing Banquet being held on the evening of Thursday, August 18. Further details (including alternate hotel options) may be found here:
