ICCF – Executive Board Meeting
March 5, 2022
Dear ICCF Delegates, Officials, and Friends,
The Executive Board (EB) and Management Committee (MC) members met today for more than 4-hours to discuss various issues. Two important decisions are outlined below and additional decisions with further details will be published within the next 24-hours.
Extraordinary Meeting
1. Following Article 31 of the ICCF Statutes, the Executive Board, by unanimous consent, voted to convene an extraordinary meeting of Congress (EC).
a. The location will be virtual (online).
b. The purpose of the EB and agenda will be to address numerous proposals resulting from the armed conflict of Russia and Belarus against Ukraine.
A detailed timeline to this EC is being constructed now, and I hope to be available to all delegates and officials soon; again, the plan is within 24-48 hours.
Donation
2. The ICCF EB has decided to take the following immediate actions:
a. A donation of 2.000 Euros will be donated on behalf of ICCF immediately to an international organisation that provides relief and support to the Ukrainian citizens.
b. Approval of a “Peace Tournament,” as offered by the German Federation, BdF. Full details and a tournament announcement will be released shortly. All entry fees from this tournament have also been pledged to support Ukrainian citizens. This will provide an opportunity for any or all ICCF players to compete in a chess tournament with all proceeds to support the Ukrainian citizens.
Further Actions
3. Additional actions decided will be released within the next 24 hours.
With kindest regards and good wishes,
Amici Sumus,
Eric Ruch
