The tournament in memory of François Riva has started on 01.07.2023.

François Riva was born on 5th December 1959 and started playing correspondence chess in 1983.
For a decade (1996-2006), Frank was the National Delegate to ICCF for Luxembourg and represented his country at several ICCF Congresses. He was also Team Captain and active player until 2006 and he organised several country matches and a national Championship and helped to promote correspondence chess in Luxembourg.
In 2005 he received the Silver Bertl von Massow Medal and the Gold Bertl von Massow Medal in 2010.

A total of 39 teams entered the event.

I am very happy that we can welcome a team from Hungary for the first time in this tournament form.
In the semi-final round, the teams will compete in 3 groups of 13 teams.

Qualification to Final

The final will consist of 13 Teams. The top four teams will qualify from each group. The best scoring 5th place team from all groups will also qualify, with team tiebreaking rules to be applied, if required.
